The Elite was released in June 24, at BTW, that Wikipedia article was mostly written by me. VIVO was, of course, the first implementation.
Several patch set choices are available, varying in size and instrument quality 2, 4, or 8 MB. In another cost-cutting move, the previously typical ROM chip used for storage of samples for sample-based synthesis was replaced with the facility to use system RAM as storage for this audio data. Playing movies that are all 48 KHz gets you out of pitch audio. This is because some of these older cards do not fully support PnP Plug and Play.

The “Opus”-Card should be the third one in the middleright? I haven’t seen any sold recently, but would like to know how much they are worth?

Pressure from intense competition, especially with the dominant Creative Labswas forcing audio card makers to try to keep their prices low. My website with reviews, demos, drivers, tutorials and more I’m guessing that most folks who get one of these cards these days won’t get a manual, so I decided to scan it. Things got way more interesting with the PCI devices.
